Is AI The Beginning Of The Digital Industrial Revolution 2.0?
You’re Not Prepared For What AI Just Did!
Is the rampant growth of artificial intelligence a sign that we’re hurtling towards the singularity?
Most people have been surprised at how much AI is improving in only one year alone.
These images were generated by an AI application called Midjourney, only one year apart, with identical prompts!
We can CLEARLY see how primitive the image-generating AI tools were in April 2022, but only one year later in April 2023, it’s improved by an order of magnitude!
Text-to-image AI applications like these is what’s causing everyone to become increasingly concerned about the power AI holds…
Artificial Intelligence(AI) has been around for 10 years now, but the reason it’s going PARABOLIC on Google search trends, and slamming its way into the mainstream consciousness, is all because this one application called Chat GPT.
If you prefer video content, I explored this topic in more detail in a video I released today, but if you can put up with my long-winded writings, let’s proceed!
If you’ve been living under a rock and didn’t know, Chat GPT has become the fastest-growing new software and technology company in history!
Chat GPT reached 1 million downloads in just 5 days, shattering records previously held by technology company giants such as Instagram, Facebook, and Tik Tok.
However, the artificial intelligence craze has only accelerated since then, as Chat Gpt ALSO become the fastest-growing application to reach 100 million users.
What’s even more frightening, is the newest version of chat GPT 4 was just released last month.
It’s already showing signs that it is going to be 1000x better than the original version, that smashed all of these records!
This growth of chat GPT has subsequently thrown the topics of Artificial Intelligence and automation into the consciousness of the mainstream press this year.
The everyday person is frightened by these developments because automation, AI and robotics are projected to automate 50% of the workforce by 2055.
That may sound like a long way away, but we’re going to see significant disruption in the coming handful of years. Hundreds of millions of jobs are set to be automated in the next 7 years alone.
Chat GPT is merely the first sign of this broader, rapidly evolving exponential trend of technology that’s changing the world!
Whether you’re a cleaner, manual laborer, accountant, or even a writer, your job is probably at risk of becoming automated in the coming years.
Is Chat GPT alone capable of taking our jobs, and even evolving into a super intelligent AI?
To understand this, and how to prepare, protect yourself, and even profit from this AI trend, we need to quickly understand the basics.
What is AI?
There are 3 different types of Artificial Intelligence.
Chat GPT is an example of a ‘’artificial narrow intelligence,’’(ANI) because it only specializes in one specific area.
However, Chat GPT isn’t the only AI tool, there are literally hundreds of different AI tools, being made by different companies, who’re all fighting to try and create a monopoly on this new technology.
What’s revolutionary about this new technology, is ANYONE can use it, and this is going to change EVERYTHING!
I’m about to make a bold claim, but I hope the data I’m about to show you backs up this statement.
I believe the technology we have access to today, has the potential to create an industrial revolution 2.0 for the digital age.
Before you roll your eyes and stop reading, let me explain to you why I believe we’re on the precipice of a Cambrian explosion of innovation for the digital age.
The reason I make that analogy is because of the technological similarities we’re experiencing today with the 1700s.
Looking at all of the major and more consequential technological inventions in history, something interesting emerges…
125,0000 years ago Fire
10,000 years ago Agricultural revolution
5000 years ago Language
1450 Printing Press
1600s Energy revolution
1700s Industrial revolution
1800s Electricity
1900s The Automobile
1981 The internet
1981 Inofmation age
Ever 50-60 years since the 1770s industrial revolution, a new technological revolution has emerged and taken the world by storm.
Some say that AI is the coming 5th technological revolution.
While others claim that Bitcoin is the 5th industrial revolution.
I disagree with both claims, I actually think something much bigger is happening today.
To answer that question we need to think about what led to the formation of the 1770s industrial revolution.
I believe that civilizational progress can be largely attributed to the ever-increasing advances we made in the realms of:
-Energy
-Money
-Intelligence and knowledge.
I don’t believe it to be any coincidence that between the years of 1450 and 1700s leading into the industrial revolution, we saw 4 major inventions and civilizational shifts, that exponentially increased our energy usage, our knowledge, our monetary velocity, and our intelligence.
Chart
The list below is some of what I believe to be some of most important advances we made in each realm.
The ones that emerged in this miracle era I want to point attention to are bolded.
Energy:
L1 125,000 years ago- Fire was mastered by our species.
L2 1600s- We discovered hydrocarbons & the earths energy.
L3 1800s- Electricity
Storage:
L1 5000 years ago - Writing/sophisticated language emerged
L2 1450 – The Printing press.
L3 1981 - Internet
Compute Power:
L1 10,000 years ago - Agricultural societies emerged.
L2 1700s - Industrial societies emerged.
L3 1981 – The transition into the information age began.
Money:
L1 5000 years ago- Gold & precious metals
L2 1600s- Central banking
L3 1971 - Fiat era
L4 2009 Bitcoin
It was these ‘’layer 2 protocols’’ emerging that enabled the 1770s inflection point that Homsapiens had been searching for, to propel us on an exponential trend of flourishing.
The industrial revolution in the 1770s lead to a cascade of technological miracles that’ve fundamentally transformed our world today.
Now, Artificial intelligence, and more broadly, the technology we have available to us today has the potential to create an industrial revolution-like event for the digital realm.
As we will explore in more detail shortly, for the first time in 250 years, we’ve found technologies that simultaneously:
Increase our energy efficiency and usage
Increase our monetary velocity
Increase our communication of ideas
Increase our capacity for storing ideas
If what I’m saying is merely directionally correct, this shift into the information age is going to completely reorient the workforce, and the entire global economy in the coming years.
The technology of the 17th and 18th centuries constructed industrially based societies, with nation-states, that were powered by physical commodities like hydrocarbons.
However, we’re transitioning away from industrial societies, fueled by hydrocarbons, into information societies, fueled by a new commodity.
This is a transition that our society has not seen in 250 years, since we transitioned from the agrarian age into the industrial age in the 18th century.
Since then, society has been further centralizing in large cities, but this transition into the information age could be the first domino to fall in what I believe will be a new trend.
Decentralization and localization.
People are beginning to realize this.
Every single day, 25,000 people decide to leave their country and local 9-5 job behind to become a digital nomad.
Is Chat GPT and the recent rise of AI going to empower the digital nomad, or take away all our jobs and enslave us?
I attempted to answer that in my recent video:
Let’s answer that, as well as the following in the next section:
Why real estate is the worst investment for the 2020s
How to take advantage of AI
What is the 21st century commodity
Why our governments are only going to become more tyrannical
How to navigate the digital age
